As expected, Samsung Nepal has officially launched the highly-anticipated Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones today in Nepal. The flagship Galaxy S9 and S9+ were first announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 on February 25. The Samsung Galaxy S9 has been priced at Rs 92,900 for the 64GB model while the bigger Galaxy S9+ comes with a price tag of Rs 104,900.
As part of the launch offer, the company is offering a special discount of Rs.5000 on the smartphones, so you can now get the Galaxy S9 and S9+ for Rs. 87,900 and Rs. 99,900 respectively. Additionally, Samsung Nepal partnered with Ncell to offer users 12GB of free data and there’s also one-year breakage insurance from Shikhar Insurance.
In terms of design, both the smartphones look very identical to the last year’s Galaxy S8 and S8+ however, some major improvements were made on the inside. As for the specifications, the Galaxy S9 has a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED QHD+ infinity display whereas the Galaxy S9+ packs a slightly bigger 6.2-inch Super AMOLED QHD+ infinity display. Underneath, both the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are fueled by in-house octa-core Exynos 9810 processor while the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset is available on the US and the South Korean markets only. The Galaxy S9 comes with 4GB of RAM and 3,000MAh battery and the Galaxy S9+ features a large 6GB RAM and 3,500mAh battery. Both the smartphones feature 64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 400GB via a microSD card.
On the software front, it runs on latest Android 8.0 Oreo with TouchWiz UI on top. It also houses the AKG-tuned stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and wireless charging as well. Both the smartphones are certified with an IP68 rating, making it resistant to dust and water. Also, the company has kept the old 3.5mm headphone jack as well. For the first time, Samsung has added a new feature called AR Emoji which allows users to take a selfie and converts it to an animated emoji.
Talking about the camera, the Galaxy S9 features a 12-megapixel camera with OIS and dual aperture of f/1.5 and f/2.4 whereas the Galaxy S9+ comes with a 12MP dual camera setup at the back. The standard 12MP sensor comes with OIS, f/1.5 and f/2.4 apertures and another 12MP telephoto lens comes with OIS and f/2.4 aperture. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ pack an 8MP sensor on the front with f/1.7 aperture. It is also capable of recording 4K video at 60fps, and 960fps slow-motion video at 720p resolution.

The phone will be available in multiple color options- Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Lilac Purple, and Titanium Grey colors. Samsung Nepal has already started taking pre-orders for phone starting today and the offline sales will begin on March 23.
