Oppo’s sub-brand Realme has today unveiled its new U series of smartphones and the first phone to be introduced in that series is the Realme U1. The Realme U1 is a new budget offering that comes loaded with the new octa-core Helio P70 chipset, which makes it the first phone in India to rock that chipset. The Helio P70 SoC is the successor to the Helio P60 which offers 13 percent performance improvement and better mobile gaming experience. Now, let’s talk about the Realme U1 in details.
In terms of specifications, the Realme U1 sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ LCD waterdrop notch display that offers a screen resolution of 1080×2340 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio display and 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio. As for the processor, it boasts the new octa-core Helio P70 chipset clocked up to 2.1GHz, paired 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage. It does include a microSD slot which can expand the storage up to 256GB. Under the hood, it is backed by a fine 3,500mAh battery with 5V/2A charging support. The phone operates on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with Color OS 5.2 on top. As for the connectivity features, it supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS/ GLONASS, micro-USD port, OTG support, and 3.5mm audio jack.
For photography, the Realme U1 sports a dual rear camera setup, which includes a 13MP primary sensor with a f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP secondary sensor with a f/2.4 aperture. At the front, it packs a whopping 25MP Sony IMX576 sensor with f/2.0 aperture, Portrait Mode, Face Unlock, Beautify and all other fancy AI features.
