After a lot of speculations, OnePlus has finally gone ahead and unveiled its much-hyped flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 6T at an event in New York. This smartphone succeeds the OnePlus 6 and brings a new smaller notch display, larger battery and an inbuilt fingerprint scanner system, called ‘Screen Unlock’. The company has also ditched the traditional 3.55mm headphone jack and the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The OnePlus 6T features a stunning 6.41-inch Full HD+ Optic AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The display is protected by a 2.5D Curved Corning Gorilla Glass 6, while the rest has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.Under the hood, it is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor clocked at 2.8GHz, clubbed with 6GB/8GB LPDDRX RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 2.1 storage. On the software side, the phone has Oxygen OS based on the latest Android 9.0 Pie.
The OnePlus 6T now has a much larger 3,700mAh battery as compared to the smaller 3,300mAh battery on the OnePlus 6. The device still charges as fast as before, thanks to Dash Charge.
For photography, the OnePlus 6T packs the same dual 16-megapixel Sony IMX519 sensor with f/1.7 aperture, OIS and a secondary 20-megapixel Sony IMX376K sensor with f/1.7 aperture, PDAF & 1.0 µm pixel size. Similar to the OnePlus 6, it comes with the same 16-megapixel Sony IMX 371 front camera with f/2.0 aperture and EIS. However, the company claims that the OnePlus 6T has a better Portrait mode than the OnePlus 6. And, there’s also a new night mode feature to help improve low-light photography. Other camera features include Screen Flash, HDR, Studio Lighting, Smile Capture, Face Retouching, etc.

As for the pricing, the OnePlus 6T has a price tag of $549 (Rs. 65,460)and $579 (Rs. 68,150) for 6GB/128GB storage variant and 8GB/128GB storage variant respectively. While, the top-end 8GB RAM paired with 256GB storage variant costs $629 (Rs. 74,000). As per reports, the OnePlus 6T is expected to be available on Daraz Nepal from November 11.
