At an event in Paris, Huawei took the wraps off its first-ever flagship smartphones for 2018 – the Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro. Both the flagships are packed with an Advanced Camera system, featuring a world’s first Leica triple camera on the Huawei P20 Pro. As speculated, the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro sports a notch on the front just like the iPhone X. Now, let’s take a look at the Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro’s specifications and features.
Huawei P20
The Huawei P20 features a 5.8-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 2240 x 1080 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. Underneath, it is fueled by company’s own Kirin 970 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which is expandable with a microSD card. The phone is backed by a 3400 mAh battery with SuperCharge fast charging. Connectivity option includes dual-SIM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and 4G LTE. As for the software, it runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.1 skin on top. The Huawei P20 features a front-facing fingerprint scanner and face unlock as well. As per the company, the Face unlock on P20 is 2X faster than the FaceID on the iPhone X. Sadly, it does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone is IP53 certified, making it dust and splash resistance.
In terms of optics department, the Huawei P20 is packed with a dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel RGB sensor with a f/1.8 aperture accompanied by a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor with f/1.6 aperture. The camera features include portrait mode, 2x lossless zoom and slow-motion video at 960fps and 720p resolution. On the front, the phone has a whopping 24-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture and light fusion feature.

Huawei P20 Pro
The Huawei P20 Pro is the headliner of the series as it includes a revolutionary Leica triple camera. The phone comes with a 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a screen resolution of 2240×1080 pixels along with 19:9 aspect ratio. Similar to the Huawei P20, it is also powered by the same Kirin 970 octa-core processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Under the hood, it houses a 4000 mAh battery with Huawei’s SuperCharge support. It operates on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.1 UI running on top. The phone has a front facing fingerprint scanner and it also misses out on the 3.5mm headphone jack. Moreover, the phone is certified with IP67 which makes it resistant to water and dust.
Coming back to the camera, the Huawei P20 Pro comes with a unique triple camera setup at the back. The camera utilizes a 40-megapixel RGB sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor, and a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor aided by f/1.8, f/2.4 and f/1.6 wide aperture respectively. This camera setup allows 5x hybrid zoom, background defocus effect and ISO 102400 light sensitivity. The camera sensors also offer Huawei AIS (AI Image Stabilization), laser auto-focus and slow-motion video recording at 960 fps. While, on the front, the phone packs a 24-megapixel sensor with 3D portrait lighting, f/2.0 aperture, and light fusion feature.
