Today, Huawei’s sub-brand honor has launched a new smartphone called Honor 9 Lite in the Chinese handset market. The new Honor 9 lite can be considered as a toned- down version of the flagship Honor 9 that was launched back in July. The device features an edge-to-edge display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and also packs quad cameras.
The Honor 9 lite sports a 5.65-inch Full HD+( 2160 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Both the rear and front panel receives protection from 2.5D curved glass. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor clocked at 2.36GHz coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage. The internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card up to 256GB. Under the hood, it houses 3,000mAh battery with Supercharge support. The company claims that the device will take 2 Hours and 30 minutes to charge from 0 to 100 percent. On the software front, it runs on latest Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0 skin on top of it. The fingerprint sensor is embedded on the back side of the phone. On the connectivity front, it supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Dual-Sim.
As far as cameras are concerned, it packs dual cameras on the back and on the front as well. The phone features 13MP primary and 2MP secondary sensor on both rear and front camera. The camera offers several features including PDAF autofocus, 3D beauty, Bokeh effect and many more.

The Honor 9 lite is priced at CNY1,199 (approx. Rs 18,648) for the 3GB RAM/32 GB variant, the 4GB RAM/32GB variant costs CNY1,499 (approx. Rs 23,313) while the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage is priced at CNY1,799 (approx. Rs 27,979). The phone comes in multiple color options; Navy Blue, Seagull Gray and Pearl White, it will go on sale on December 26 in China and will be out later in other markets outside China.
