A year ago, Google made its debut with their own pixel smartphones and no doubt they were really a standout amongst other smartphones last year. Now, after a long wait, Google has finally unveiled the 2nd generation of its pixel smartphone; the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Both the smartphone are very similar looking sporting slimmer bezels, rounded corners, and curved edges. The two new devices pack some new exclusive features like Active Edge, Google lens, and improved Google assistant.
Google Pixel 2
Google Pixel 2 comes with a 5-inch Cinematic Full HD(1080 x 1920) AMOLED display that has a normal aspect ratio of 16:9, protected by Corning gorilla glass 5. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor along with 4GB RAM and 64/128GB internal storage. The internal storage is not expandable instead, the company is offering free unlimited uploads to Google photos. The Pixel 2 is backed by 2700mah non-removable battery and runs on latest Android 8.0 Oreo right out of the box. The device is now certified with IP67 dust and water resistant.
As for the camera goes, the Pixel 2 sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization, and dual pixel autofocus. On the front, there’s an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.4 aperture and optimized portrait mode. The Pixel 2 can capture 4K resolution videos. The phones come in three color variants: Just Black, Kinda Blue and Clearly White-almost perfect name.

Google Pixel 2 XL
The Google Pixel 2 XL features a massive 6-inch Quad-HD+(2880 x 1440) OLED display with thinner bezels and 18:9 aspect ratio. Also, the device is protected Corning Gorilla glass 5. It is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64/128 internal storage. Unlike last year, Pixel 2 XL is now backed by a larger 3520mah non-removable battery, coming from 2700mah battery on Pixel XL. The device operates on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system and comes in two colors; White and Black. There is IP67 dust and water resistant certification included.
Talking about the camera, the Pixel 2 XL comes with a same 12-megapixel camera on the rear side with tons of image stabilization like optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS). On the front, the camera remains the same with 8-megapixel with f/2.4 aperture.

Pricing and Availability
Both the phones are up for pre-orders and will be available starting from October 17. The Pixel 2 priced at $649 for the 64GB variant and $749 for the 128GB variant. While the Pixel 2 XL is priced at $849 for the 64GB model and $949 for the 128GB model.

Both the phone supports ‘active edge’ that lets you squeeze the side of the phone to perform several actions like launching Google Assistant and silence incoming calls. Well sad to say, this time around Google has ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack which really is a let down for some users. However, both phone comes with IP67 certified water and dust resistant. All things considered, Google Pixel 2, Pixel XL 2 are truly two great phones and might be the best phones of this year too.
