After officially announcing the OPPO F5 in the Philippines last month, OPPO has finally arrived in Nepal with its new selfie-centric smartphone. The F5 is the latest addition to OPPO’s Selfie-expert smartphones series. The phone flaunts a premium looking metal unibody design and comes with an almost bezel-free display, improved hardware, and better performing cameras. Let’s talk about the specifications of the device, the OPPO F5 features a 6-inch FHD + (2160×1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is the first smartphone from the company to come with 18:9 aspect ratio display. The phone does have Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and also has a 2.5D curved glass coating on top. Under the hood, there’s a 2.5GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P23 processors accompanied by 4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB Internal Storage. As we already know, the phone is offered in two variants; 4GB with 32GB storage option and 6GB with 64GB storage option. The microSD card slot is also included so you can extend the storage up to 256GB. The F5 is backed up by a fine 3,200mAh non-removable battery and operates on Android 7.1 Nougat with ColorOS 3.0 on top of it.
The fingerprint sensor is now placed on the back of the device due to their bezel-free design approach. The phone also supports facial recognition that lets you unlock the smartphone with the use of your face. Connectivity option includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, USB-OTG,and Dual SIM.
In terms of the optics, the OPPO has a 16MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture. In the front, it packs a massive 20MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture included with AI beauty recognition technology to enhance and beautify selfies. The company claims, the F5 is the first ever phone to come with the new AI Beauty Recognition Technology. The new AI beauty Technology lets you capture impressive selfies and also offers DSLR-Like ‘bokeh effect ‘feature to take beautiful portrait shots with a blurred background.

The Oppo F5 Price in Nepal is Rs 33,900 for the 4GB+32GB storage variant, while the 6GB+64GB variant is available for Rs 36,900. The 4GB RAM variant comes in multiple color options; Gold and Black, while the 6GB variant is only available in Red color.
The phone will be available in offline stores from 15th November.

There are already many smartphones lining up in this price range. And now with the entry of OPPO F5, other smartphones are going to face a tough time in the market. I believe that Oppo F5 is a worthy competitor as it comes with some impressive features and decent processor-RAM combo. The phone consists of a great pair of cameras and can perform most of the task without any hesitation.
OPPO F5 is a great phone overall and may be a perfect fit for selfie lovers but carrying such hefty price tag some buyers may opt out in dismay, as there are already pretty good smartphones available on the market in this price range like OnePlus 3, Mi A1 and Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro.
